Pavlyuchenkova reached the third round of the tournament in Doha on the refusal of Ukrainian Kostyuk

Russian tennis player Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, ranked 32nd in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings, reached the third round of the WTA-1000 tournament in Doha (Qatar).

The Russian’s opponent was Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk (29th racket in the world). The meeting lasted 17 minutes and ended after the Ukrainian refused to continue the game with the score 2:1 in favor of Pavlyuchenkova. After the third game left for Kostyuk, the Ukrainian called a doctor to the court and complained about her health.

Pavlyuchenkova’s opponent in the third round of the tournament with a prize fund of $3,211,715 will be the eighth racket of the world, Czech tennis player Marketa Vondrousova, who beat Belgian Gretje Minnen 6:2, 0:6, 6:4 in the second round.
