Iga Swiatek reaches 100 weeks as world number one

Four-time Grand Slam champion 22-year-old Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek is spending her 100th week as the world number one.

Swiatek first topped the WTA rankings in April 2022 and stayed in first place for 75 weeks, losing the lead to Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka in September 2023. In November of the same year, she regained her status as world number one and has maintained it to this day.

Before her, eight other tennis players surpassed the 100-week mark in the WTA rankings:

1. Steffi Graf (Germany) – 377 weeks.

2. Martina Navratilova (USA) – 332.

3. Serena Williams (USA) – 319.

4. Chris Evert (USA) – 260.

5. Martina Hingis (Switzerland) – 209.

6. Monica Seles (Yugoslavia, USA) – 178.

7. Ashleigh Barty (Australia) – 121.

8. Justine Henin (Belgium) – 117.

9. Iga Swiatek (Poland) – 100.
