The 53rd racket of the world, American tennis player Danielle Collins reached the second semi-final of the WTA-1000 tournament in her career.
Previously, she managed to do this in 2018, also at a tournament in Miami (USA). Then, in the match for the right to play in the final, the American lost to Elena Ostapenko (Latvia) with a score of 6:7 (1:7), 3:6.
Note that Collins became only the second tennis player in the history of the Premiers to reach the first two semi-finals of the thousanders in her career at the same tournament. The first is Czech Barbora Krejcikova, who reached her first two semi-finals at the competition in Dubai.
In the semi-final match of the current tournament in Miami, Collins will play with the winner of the confrontation between Ekaterina Alexandrova (Russia, 16) and Jessica Pegula (USA, 5).
