Azarenka beat Putintseva and reached the semi-finals of the “thousandth” in Miami

Two-time Grand Slam winner, former world number one, Belarusian tennis player Victoria Azarenka reached the semi-final round of the WTA-1000 tournament in Miami (USA).

In the quarterfinal match, Azarenka (32nd) defeated the 68th racket of the world, representative of Kazakhstan, Yulia Putintseva (68th), with a score of 7:6 (7:4), 1:6, 6:3.

The meeting lasted 3 hours 45 minutes. Azarenka served twice, made five double faults and converted 5 break points out of 16. Putintseva had five aces, not a single double fault and six converted break points out of nine earned.

For reaching the final of the “thousander” in Miami, Azarenka will compete with the winner of the meeting between the Greek tennis player, the ninth racket of the world, Maria Sakkari, and the representative of Kazakhstan, Elena Rybakina (the fourth racket).

The tournament in Miami runs from March 19 to 30. Its total prize fund is $8.9 million. The current winner of the tournament is Czech Petra Kvitova, who beat Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina in the final match last year.
